Character Sign-Ups

You walk through the desert, the sun beating down on your back. You must find some kind of life, water or food soon, for you fear your end is near. There's not a city in sight. Sweating, you stumble up a hill. The sun gets in your eyes, causing your eyes to squint. You look down, and find a city.

Happy, you shout your thanks to the sky, and go down the hill towards the city, hoping for friendly people to aid you.

As you approach the city, two guards wearing armor are looking at you.

"Stop right there!" one says to you, looking suspicious. "Who are you?"
You've been in the desert so long, you can't remember anything. Not even your name.

The other guard, who is more kinder, nods. "I see you're weak. You can join the city for as long as you'd like. To join, you must read these rules."
The guard hands you some hardened clay; on it is writing.

RULES:

-Once you sign up your character, you MUST keep commenting to keep your character alive! If you don't, then your character will die/be captured/be exiled.

-You can be ANY ANIMAL, EXCEPT made up animals. I'm not excepting a saber-tooth unicorn of some sort, or anything like that!

-Unlike my other story blogs, your character CAN be any color, but don't get too ridiculous with them! Like, no rainbow legs or something like that!

-No saying "Whichever the main character is in". That tells me you want to BE a main character!

-Your character CANNOT have ANY SPECIAL POWERS. Is that clear?

-Try to make your name somewhat UNIQUE. No names like "Flower" because it's not unique, AND there's not a lot of vegetation in the desert!

-For your history, do NOT SAY "normal" - that tells me NOTHING about your character. If you can, try to make your history UNIQUE!

-Be sure to include a USERNAME when you make a comment. OTHERWISE, I won't know who you ARE. NO ANONYMOUS!

-Please, use original characters! Don't copy from a published book, OR somebody else!

Once you read the rules, the kind guard speaks again.

"Alright now, we need to ask you a few questions. Try to go along with it easily!"

(Remember, try to make this UNIQUE!)

The guard nods, "Very good, very good! Next question!"

WHAT IS YOUR GENDER?

"Ah, yes! I see you're very beautiful/handsome! Er... Well, anyway, next question!"

WHAT ANIMAL ARE YOU?

(Make your species unique, but no bugs or fish!)

"I love your animal! I've noticed a wind is pushing sand around now..."

WHAT IS YOUR PERSONALITY?

(As much traits as you can, please!)

"Very interesting! Yes, yes, let's move on now..."

WHAT IS YOUR APPEARANCE?

(Remember, any appearance, but not too ridiculous!)

"Ah, thanks for telling me, that wind making the sand go across my eyes confused me!"

WHAT IS YOUR STRENGTHS?

(Make as much as you can think of!)

"That's good, good! You'd make a fine warrior!"

WHAT IS YOUR WEAKNESSES?

(At least two weaknesses! Don't make your character perfect.)

"What's with that look? No, don't be suspicious, I'm not trying to find out any secrets!"

WHAT IS YOUR CLOTHING?
(Try not to make it too human - for example, no shirts! Include a weapon, too! Some ideas are: Swords, cuffs, capes, pants, etc.)

"Yes, we got some of those in the storage room, I'll be sure to fetch you some!"

WHAT IS YOUR SYMBOL?
(Your symbol is a picture that represents your name in their language. For example, someone with the name "Hail" would be a block, meaning "hail" in the language of the animals in the Ancient City.)

"Oh yes, good symbol! I recognized it right away! Now..."

WHAT IS YOUR HISTORY?

(Remember, a unique history!)

"I liked hearing your story, I loved it! Awesome!"

WHAT IS YOUR RANK?*

"I like that rank! You'll be perfect!"

WHAT PLACE ARE YOU FROM?*

"Ah, that's very good! Very good! Now, come with me, you must be starving and dehydrated!"

Gladly, you nod and quickly follow into the city.
When you enter, you're given two more hardened clay pieces, again with writing on it.

RANKS:
Squire - These are animals that are most loyal to the ruler and they serve the ruler, and follow every command given to them.
Warrior - These animals normally spend their time training to fight, and they learn how to battle and rarely learn anything else.
Scribe - Animals who are good at writing are usually given these jobs. Scribes record important events, and sometimes for fun they'll write their own books.
Fishers - There's actually a river out there in the desert! The animals of the city take advantage of it so they hire fishers to go on their own small "boat" made out of mud and bark to catch fish.
Farmers - All of these animals are experts at crops! They'll grow crops, care for them and harvest them.
Builders - Animals who make bricks and build new buildings. That's their main job, but they also fix anything that's broken, and they're normally good at math.
Blacksmith - Wonder where your weapons come from? It's from the blacksmiths! They spend all day making new weapons, and sometimes take someone's weapon to make it sharper and stronger.
Seamstress - Always females, they spend their time making clothes. They usually have free time, and spend that time making sure clothes fit on others, and that everyone else is working hard. Sometimes in their free time, they'll help others.
Nurse - The nurses are usually females, but some males like to be nurses too. They treat any injury in no time, and never give up until their patient is treated.
Slave - Captured animals from other places become slaves, and are treated unfairly and they do work others are not able to do. Not all are captured - some owe a debt to someone.
Prisoner - Captured rogues, always evil, and the ruler decides their fate - sometimes it's torture, death or worse.
Mother - The mothers are always females, and they have mates. Mothers are expecting young or are nursing young. All the mothers split into jobs and all care for the young, never just their own. If you're a mother, please state your mate!
Young - These animals are too young to learn anything, they spend their time playing and wishing to be a trainee.
Trainee - They're always at least six moons old, and are training for a job. If you're a trainee, please state what you're training for!
Elders - They're too old to do their jobs, and they're retired animals. But, they got jobs too! Elders usually do research on the past and study the future, and handle prophecies. They can be a bit like shamans.
Loner - These are animals outside the city, living on their own.
Rogues - Exiles from places, they're always vicious animals and are very dangerous.

PLACES:
The Ancient City - This is the place that holds most animals, and they're in war against the Dark City. The Ancient City believe in the Sky City, and are the good guys.
The Dark City - This holds evil animals, and almost as much animals as the Ancient City. They all got the same ranks as the Ancient City. They believe in the Death City, not the Sky City.
Tribe of Peaceful Clouds - This is a Tribe of many different animals, but they never let in loners or rogues, and they don't know anything about the Ancient City and the Dark City. They have laws they live by, but no animal is perfect, and even they break the law sometimes.
The Fire City - They're allies with the Ancient City, and live in an extinct volcano. They believe in the Sky City, and are also friends with the Tribe of Peaceful Clouds.
Sky City - The Sky City is where the good animals go when they die. Every animal in the Sky City can see the future, past, and they give prophecies. They're all wise, no matter what age, and help out the Ancient City and Fire City as much as they can.
The Death City - The Death City is where all evil animals go when they die. The Death City watches over all evil animals, and can see the future, past, and they give prophecies. They aren't quite as wise as the Sky City though.
Tribe of Starry Skies - This is where the good Tribe animals go in their death. Only good Tribe members go here, however. The Tribe of Starry Skies help the Tribe of Peaceful Clouds as much as they can, and can see the future, past, and they give prophecies, and are all very wise.
Tribe of Dark Souls - This holds very few Tribe animals, as most of them turn out good instead of bad. This Tribe holds every evil animal, and they can see into the future, past, and they give prophecies, but aren't as wise as the Tribe of Starry Skies.
